3 Hum Toggle Switch Wiring
« on: August 01, 2006, 09:08:01 PM »
Im wanting to upgrade all the electronics on my epi Sg Custom and have been tryin all day to find a suitable 3-way toggle switch that is designed for 3 p/u guitars with little luck. The wiring I want is Back Position= Neck and Middle pups, Middle Position= All Pups, Forward= Middle and Bridge pups. Could I just use any 3 way toggle switch to achieve this type of wiring or would I need a special kind?

Unfortunately the standard Gibson switch is set up for the following:

Bridge
Bridge and Middle (you can also make it neck and middle)
Neck

To wire it differently as you want is impossible with the wafters.  You could get a 4pole mini toggle with on-on-on swtiching and do it then or, since you want the middle on all the time, just wire the neck and bridge to the toggle and have the middle go to a volume pot directly.
So many pickups, so little time
