For years i've been craving a minimoog, but never had the money for one (and if i did i'd be far more inclined to spend it on something guitar related, sincei can actually play a guitar).
Anyways, i found this minimoog emulating software - it's £118 from soundcontrol, and going by the clips and info on this site:

it's a cracker.

I've read all through the site and it has clips, info about the history of moog, all the technology gone intot he software, what OS's yu can use ti with etc. however- it doesnt tell me a very basic thing that i need to know before buying it;
HOW THE HELL DO I PLAY IT?
I mean - what input device do i use? does it come with a moog shell? do i have to buy a midi keyboard to plug into my PC? do i use my PC keyboard? do i have to program the notes?
Basically, if i had it how would i use it - i realise this is a stupidly ignorant question but i can't seem t find the answer, and I'm so close to making all my MOOG dreams come real.
If anyone has tried this software, or knows how to use it for any reason, I'd be very grateful for your help.

You'll need a midi keyboard and a good computer so that when you press the keys you hear note at the same time. Trying to use a computer keyboard to play is a real pain and usually the VST won't be set up for it (in my limited experience).
I'd love a Moog too, just another part of my Mahavishnu obsession :D

is this the kind of thing that I'll need? How does his connect to the PC? it has a midi-out jack, and a USB1.1 upstream port... can i use a regular guitar jack - or headphone cable into my soundcard aswell? and when I've set it up - will the software just recognise the keyboard, or will it take a lot of configuring do yu think?

Jesus - now i really see the beauty of the standalone analog unit :P

EDIT - this looks more like it. Cheaper, and definately USB compatible...

Yeah, that'll work fine. Just connect it directly to the USB on your computer, it'll probably be powered through the USB as well so thats one less cable. You'll probably need to set up the midi controller options on your computer though so that it knows you want to use the keyboard to control the midi.
