Hi all

After much lurking for the past few days, and trying to learn as much as I could about BKPs, I finally ordered a set of Black Dogs (with aged covers) for my '58RI LP that I recently acquired.

Damn these pickups are expensive! I hope they are worth it, and from the comments you guys all post, these pickups are da shitee. You're not all paid shills, are you?

Anyway, I'm looking forward to hearing these pickups for myself. My LP has the Gibson Burtsbucker 1 and 2, which sound pretty darn good already. I just wanted to take my guitar "to 11"., so I emailed Tim for some suggestions, and he said to get a calibrated set of the Black Dogs, so I did.

Cheers, y'all.

If it has Tim's blessing, I'd say it's good as gold youre going to like them a lot.  :D

Those Black Dog's are awesome pickups, they were the first set of BKP's I bought, and they're the benchmark for every other guitar I own. They sound awesome in an LP.

Enjoy! ;)

THey sound great.  I have them in a 53 LP and they nail the Led Zep sounds (including the cleaner ones).  The aged covers also look great, I put a set of Stormy Monday's with aged covers onto my 335.  Once you try them I am sure you will be impressed but you will then have the same problem as the rest of us - you will want more pickups from BK!!
So many pickups, so little time

HA, HA! Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of.

I tend to be sceptical of things at first, but when I find something I like, I become obsessive about it. If I they're as good as described, next will be a bloody match to the death with the piggy bank. (The porcine can't fight very well).

Thanks, for the welcomes. There seem to be some cool peeps around here.

Yeah...ditched the ESP forum long ago for this place...way more pleasant. Good to here you went for the Black Dogs, and YES, after trying them, odds are you're going to want to buy a guitar for EACH SET Tim manufactures. Right now, I want a Les Paul for Black Dogs, a Strat for Apaches, and an ESP MII Standard with Holy Divers...  Good times, though.
