just get a keeley Boss DS1 Ultra mod pedal from the site. It's designed to replicate a marshall plexi 100 watt amp,

I didnt know that.. I've read a lot of good stuff about stock DS-1 aswell. Going to the guitar shop tomorrow so I'll see if I can try out at least a stock DS-1 to see if I like its base tone, not sure how much different the Keeley mod might be.

I wouldnt get the stock, pay for the keeley one, the normal one cant replicate a 100watt plexi, that's the whole point of the keeley mod!

The stock DS1 and keeley DS1 are NOT the same sound, keeley is much fatter, warmer, less harsh and it sounds like a tube tone in a box. I know cos I got mine modded and it literally sounded 10 times better than stock.

But it's your decision, please dont buy one before trying out a keeley mod and then you'll know what I mean ; )

Well I've read a lot about people liking it stock so I thought I could get a cheap stock one off ebay or something, then find some DIY mods for it to improve what I dont like about it.
