which Bareknuckle for this tone?
« on: September 12, 2006, 07:56:33 PM »
which Bareknuckle bridge humbucker would get me close to Wolf's grindy tone on the Accept song "Slaves to Metal"?

here's a video of it on youtube:

my guitar is a bolt-on Strat copy with maple neck/fingerboard, alder body, and Original Floyd tremolo.

is the Miracle Man a good one to start with?

thanks \m/

I'd use a Holydiver, but the MM would be OK.
Cold Sweat, Nailbomb 7b, Cold Sweat 7n

Is that singer the German bloke Udo ..sorry can't remember his name! I remember seeing him in a band years ago. Man I'm showing my age now!

The following post maybe against the anti-single coil orthodoxy but I run a seymour duncan pedal boost into proco rat (and sometimes an chandler od - or both) and I get huge sounds from my noisy and thing SC. If you like how your strat sounds to you do not abandon the SC too quickly I say.

I was wondering which pickup would be good in a strat for Accept (I will eventually get a BK for mine for the same kinda tone). I just got the BTTW and Metal Heart albums, loving em :D

I think a Cold Sweat might do that well too.  Miraclemans, Nailbombs, or Holy Divers should all be able to come close enough too.
Real men turn their volume to 11!

Rebel Yells + Les Paul = the Ultimate Rock Pickup.

wouldn't Holy Diver be the best?

No, too dark, not enough upper midrange push, and not the same degree of natural compression.

I listened v. carefully to the clip, and I was thinking of the Cold Sweat. I plugged in my Cold Sweat guitar, and my MM guitar, and played a similar riff. The Cold Sweat doesn't compress in the same way as the MM. It's also not as harmonically open.

I wouldn't use a Nailbomb, Holy Diver, or any other Alnico V pup for that sound.

hey thanks for all the replies!   payday's tommorrow, so I'll be placing an order for an open-poled Miracle Man    if I had the buckeroos I'd order a Cold Sweat and Holy Diver for comparison.

oh yeah I should have been more clear...my Strat copy is rear-routed with a single hb and vol pot.

I can't wait to try the Miracle Man with my Soldano-hotrodded Marshall 2203 with 6550 glass!!!!!!!!
