Food for thought

So I have a Schecter Blackjack loaded with Nailbombs. Now don't get me wrong, I love the tone but it is too metal for my taste.

I also have this maple bodied Washburn with a 59'/JB set in it from the Schecter. It sounds good, but the SDs are really muddy, and the neck has just a touch too much bass for me.

My thought is, switch the pickups from the Schecter to the Washburn, and send in the SD's (I already have 2 pairs of unused PUPs, so instead of buying, I think I'll rewind them) for Tim to rewind.

I'd like something that'll be able to distort nicely, but not a metal PUP. What would give me that Hard Rock Blues tone (I think I just made an oxymoron) in n mahogany guitar? I was thinking crawlers, but I'd love your input.

P.S. How well do Nailbombs like Maple?

I would say you should think about a VHII or Riff Raff, not the Crawler.
Just my opinion, we'll wait for the other plank owners to chime in.

Definitely try the Nailbomb in the Lynch! It couldn't hurt. Let us know how it sounds!!

Crawlers would still be too hot...............go for VHIIs or maybe Rebel Yells for a classic hot rock/blues tone.

Perhaps whilst I wait for the Rebel Yell! It's just so hard to wire in that little hole though......

The reason I was thinking Crawler was because I remember reading somewhere that it was good for 70's Blues Rock.

I already have a VHII in a strat that I'm going to rebuld...so perhaps a switch there, but it's got some IT's hooked too it too :?

I think I'll send out all my pups and have them rewound, that way it'll make everything much easier

^all the ones that arn't BKP's

So yeah, I just played my guitars, and my friends guitar (he's got a Les Paul clone loaded with Black Dogs) and well.......the Schecter sounds awesome.

So I think I'll just get the Washburn rewound, what works for Hard Rock and maple?

Oh yeah, sorry TO, but I think there will be no clips with the nailbombs and the lynch, the seem perfectly happy where they are.
