Yet another help me choose thread! Les Paul Elegant....
« on: March 25, 2007, 05:03:34 PM »
Hey everyone! I am looking to replace the bridge pickup (Gibson '57 Classic) in my Les Paul Elegant ('chambered' mahogany body, maple cap, Ebony board). The LP Elegant sounds like your typical LP with a bit more mid puch and some more overtones.  As a result, I am just finding the 57 to be very congested/muddy sounding and thus to be lacking a fair bit of definition. I play moderately high gain (think modded boosted plexi, amps are Wizard Modern Classic and a Mako Makoplex, say Alice in Chains levels of gain) and am looking for something of moderate output that will give this guitar the clarity and definition that it needs!
This guitar is just lacking some mojo since it tends to get so muddy and I am looking for something to give it the character it deserves!  Help!

I would say the Mule for clarity, warmth and natural tone. Its the classic les paul tone.
Mule,Trilogy,Irish Tours,Holy Diver and Apaches.
