Installing Pickups
« on: October 17, 2006, 06:31:49 PM »
I just received my first set of BKPs this morning - burnt chrome Rebel Yells - and I was wondering which way do I put them in?  With the screws facing outwards?  Which way should the engraving on the back of the p'ups be facing?
BKPS: Cryogenic Apache set, Mule set, Riff Raff, Stormy Monday.

Screws are traditionally at the outsides (i.e. nearest the fingerboard or bridge).  Doesn't mean you can't fit them the other way though if you want to...

traditional is being able to read inscription if looking through guitar (if was transparent of course) neck skyward.
But hell, what's tradition than a movement waiting to happen :)

Thanks for that.  I thought it was this way as well but I also thought that the engraving on the back went the same way on both p'ups.  Cheers!
