geeez....
got to test drive the RY in full force this evening-mini gig-my friends are envious, I can tell...truly jealous..when someone says "well, how much did you have to pay for it??", it kind of says it all , doesn't it-this pup is sooo DYNAMIC-when you dig in, it really does react..when you back off...when you roll off...I cannot get over how it responds to attack-I am heavy on the attack and I love the fact that you can hear exactly whats going on at the point of attack--I usually end up with a bloody fingertip, so it is nice to finally HEAR my tip tearing, yknow??I incorporate a lot of hybrid picking as well..man, the notes sound like I am stepping on a different pedal or something when I am picking/plucking-I am convinced this is the single BEST thing I have done in improving not only tone but technique-I play live through a boogie mark IV/thiele cab, which houses a massive evm-12 200 watter-I was about to buy another with a celest 30 to brighten things up(the ev does not break up, so it can sound a little cold and unforgiving)-hello ry!!!from Allman brothers to Zep to metal it delivered the goods!!!IF YOU PLAY A PAUL YOU MUST GET ONE-mids are awesome..highs have such presence-TIM RULES
....now, where's that beer??time for the load out....
btw, great message board-been on a few..you guys know your stuff..glad to be here

Cool stuff, BKP's are amazing but I think they really do come into their own in a band situation as it seems to be then that the sheer dynamics  that they are capable of revealing that hits you between the ears.Funnly enough, I took my two BKP adorned Strats to a rehearsal with a blues/rock band I play in from time to time (I play bass in that  set up) at the request of one of the two guitarists (I'd mentioned BKPs to him billions of times). The result was that he didn't touch his own custom made superstrat all night and offered me a good price on the Strat.I told him he just needs to buy a set and he'd be sorted. He was blown away and he is a bit of a tone boffin. I know exactly where you are coming from my fellow traveller.
Send three and fourpence we're going to a dance
BKP's: Apache, Country Boy, Slowhands.
