yeah, that's why i went for my cab with the v30's- I'd hardly tried any speakers (still haven't, but at least I know slightly more about them now), but as you say, the v30's normally sound at least "decent/good" in most high gain applications. and they sound pretty darn good for vintage tones too (though not as good as a speaker only aimed at vintage tones, perhaps), which is what I was after- a good all-rounder in other words.

lol, well due to the guy being a complete MUPPET, and the associated loooooooooooooooong drive to p/u, decided new one was better option :)
