OK, so let's ponder a hypothetical question:

If you had a set of A IV Mules, which guitar would you put them in and why, a mahogany solid body with mahogany and rosewood neck, or a maple semi-hollow body with mahogany and rosewood neck?

This would not be a distortion oriented exercise, but rather something more clean and organic/acoustic ended.

I think they'd sound great in either, but given the tone you're after I'd go with the maple bodied semi  :D

However, Stormy Mondays would be great in that semi...
