A friend of mine in Oz is interested in this, but I've not heard of them before.

Anyone know if their decent quality.

This mate of mine is just starting out again, and doesn't know too much at the moment (just that he doesn't want a strat-style guitar).

They're ok quality - a bit like mid price epiphone or dean
think they're korean made

Paul Stanley had them make a range for him to make some £££ on

the name Silvertone was an old one with a lot of guitars being sold via the Sears catalogue in USA in 50s/60s

Very little relation to the old brand - just a known brand to put on a Korean made product

You don't see many bolt-on semis. Could be interesting - like a cross between a 335 and a Tele Thinline (on a budget of course).

Would that be a good price in Australia for, say, one of the cheaper Epiphones?

Here's a quote from Paul Stanley:

Silvertone used to make guitars like Danelectro. Much like those Airline guitars.
