Strat to les paul

Have a 50th anniversary strat and wondered if anybody cud advise on the best pickups to beef it up? Want to thicken the sound more than increase the power, have tried a friends sinner set, and not sure it is the tone i want.
any suggestions?

The problem with hum cancelling single coils is that they don’t sound like single coils, for that very reason. We don’t make them and but we’ve rewound quite a few.
I would go for a set of Irish tours, they've got a very nice thick vintage tone

Go for the Irish Tours, I've got a set in my strat and they are amazing. Tone to die for.  :twisted:

These are the only BKs I own, for now. I replaced the stock pickups in my Hendrix Tribute strat and the difference was astounding. The output from these things is crazy, they are much louder than the stock pups. Hotter than stock as well, sweet sweet tone. The stock pickups sound flat and lifeless by comparison. There are some clips in the players section that are worth checking out.

Hi, I have a 50th anniversary strat also, and I had installed the Apaches 59 stagger, stock wound. I shall be getting it by Friday. Somehow I wanted to keep it as close to an original 54' strat.  This guitar comes with the 54' custom shop pickups, they sound ok. Then I got a Trilogy set for another strat and they smoke. Main difference so far "clear" open sound. There are plenty of choices at BKP. :)

After one of our guys chatting to tim today, and me luckily having just fitted a set of irish tours to a customers guitar, giving me the chance to a/b them with my strat, the irish tour set is definetly the sound im after. Just seems to fatten the tone out, and for a maple necked guitar the tone is very full and broad.
thanks for the suggestions, will be ordering myself a set along with the nailbombs i want for my gordon smith
