What's peoples opinions of this guitar player?

I think he's wonderfully original, got chops and melodic.. and sure writes a good tune.

Awesome riff writer, somewhat frustrating as a lead player. Sometimes has flashes of true genius and then other times is self indulgent, unmusical and weird. Great originality though.

I actually like the unmusical and weird stuff he does- using the guitar as a tone generator in an abstract way. I guess thats why I love King Crimson....

Excellent git. I read that he started to play at the age of 17, and because of that he did not learn anything from anybody(no time for that), so he started making his own thing. The guy taught Adam Jones Wow. I like him better within Rage than Audiorageless. Just as their message was coming across, damn!. But well just my opinion:)

A very creative guitarist. He made guitars sound like no-one could have ever imagined. I love his riffs. Just a Telecaster through a loud  Marshall without too much distortion. He's very well known for the wacky FX stuff but the man can play some killer melodic leads.

Very intelligent guy too. Studied law and has some interesting politacal views.

great guitarist - love the fact he's not using much distortion and the power comes from the band's playing.

the first RATM record will forever be a classic for me not just for the guitar playing, but for the lyrics (and of course the vocal delivery)
