hi everyone
has anyone had any experience with the Laney AOR pro tube series of amplifiers? i know they are discontinued, but are still available second hand, and i am wondering if it is any good
specifically for Metal though

I heard that the AOR heads are amazing for hard rock but the combos are shitee. Never tried one so I dont know. I'd be careful with old amps if youre not trying them out yourself. Personally, I'd get the GH50L if I were you. Theyre around the same price (150-250 on ebay), and Im guessing the GH50L will be more suitable for metal. Again, never tried the AOR so I cant be sure.

Btw there is a very nice looking TT50H on eBay at the moment. Its the amp Dragonforce uses. If I wasnt getting a VH100R myself I'd be really tempted.

yeah i saw that head on the bay, sounds very good, but the reviews on HC say it's shite for metal.... but dragonforce use it.... EH?

anyway, i get what your talking about with the AOR series, i might as well just get a GH50L, but none seem to appear :(
plus my mum won't let me spend any more money on gear unless i try it out first, but i have heard plenty of clips of GH50Ls to know that i want it!
and there are no GH50Ls in my area in music shops to try out.... :evil:

Eh????  Mine was on the board here for 10+ days before it sold, and there have been three on eBay in the last 2 weeks.

i know your was there, but i thought that was long gone (you posted it while i was still making my mind up)

i only saw 1 on eBat#y... the one with 6L6 valves fitted..... i should look harder!

There was another one, too, but I think it was advertised as GH-50L or something so a search didn't bring it up.
