Nailbomb inspired by you guys (progmetal content)

_tom_ and lepermeesa have just posted some great clips inspired by/covering Opeth http://www.bareknucklepickups.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6945

and that in turn has inspired me to try and write something similarish.
I knocked this together this afternoon but it needs a lot of work doing to it, and I'm not happy with some of the amp sims I've used (nowhere near ballsy enough) but my GF really wanted me to put it on here :? Hopefully if I have time I'll try and make a complete song.. maybe
All the usual gear; Charvel w/ Nailbomb & Irish Tour HSS, PODxt Live, Presonus Firebox -> Garageband (oh, plus my 5 quid Ibanez bass!).

I liked the riffs etc but not the tone so much, in my opinion a bit flat sounding.

I can hear the fret buzz (the bass). Nice guitar riffs man.

Cheers. I started off playing with some two handed tapping stuff (been watching some buckethead) but I realied that my two handed technique was awful so I decided to try and use the same arpeggios as riffs, I noticed that they had a kind of Opethy feel so I went with it.
I was also experimenting with some Orange amp sims on the Line6 but I need to spend some time getting the tones right, as tom says it's a bit flat and lacks punch. I tried re-eqing and mixing, and taking off some compression, but the improvement was minimal so I haven't bothered uploading the latest mix yet.

Not bad, i like it. The buzzing bass adds something to it, somehow it's cool.
