Dethklok- Painkiller Humbucker on a Flying V
« on: January 30, 2007, 02:30:56 PM »
Well, I spent much time drooling over the wonderful pickups that Bare Knuckle makes and having my ear filled with tales of their amazingness by a friend of mine who plays Warpigs, and I finally decided to purchase one- a new Painkiller Humbucker which went straight into the neck of my Gibson Faded Flying V.

And since it's so lovely and tasty, I couldn't resist showing off and sharing it's delight.  This is a cover of the song "Awaken Mustakrakish" by the fictional band Dethklok- the leads are done by the wonderful Painkiller, the rhythm is done by the Gibson Flying V stock bridge pickup, a 500T Gibson Stock pickup I believe.  Or it could be the 496R.  I'm not sure. :D  Drums/bass/keys etc are done through midi.  At some point I might even try and put vocals on it. :D

Enjoy! ^_^

The leads at one point sounded very ...And Justice For all-ish, very nice tone, though you should get the painkiller bridge too, that would sound even better!

Adamzap, this is the link for the exact tab I used:

http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/d/dethklok/awaken_mustakrakish_ver2_guitar_pro.htm

And Mr. Distortion, I'd be happy to do a really, really distorted clip if that's what people want to hear :D  I'm expecting a new Krank Distortus Maximus pretty soon, once that arrives I'll mic 'er up and let 'er rip. :D

Also, I was pondering getting a Warpig for the bridge at some point- would the two compliment each other well, does anyone know?
