NEW AMP! Peavey Series 400 Bass
« on: February 10, 2007, 01:58:08 AM »
Although this is a bass amp, and were all guitar players, I thought i would share anyway. We can all appreciate a classic

I found a 1970s Peavey Series 400 Bass head on eBay, and got it after the auction ended without selling since they lived 5 houses down from my Girlfriend.

The amp is huge for a start, bigger than my VH100r, which is mad. Its got 2 channels, 200Watt into 2 ohms, and has fuzz and distortion. Now i know what you're thinking, but dont, this thing is so $%&#ING LOUD! I couldnt believe the classic ampeg style tone that came though, turn up the distortion knob and get a great slightly pushed sound, with a bit of breakup, very nice. Kick in the Fuzz ands it like a WARPIG, evil tone! Serious evil. The switchable and combinable channels is sweet too, lots of tones and such. Very nice amp

and for £160, its a bargain.

Joe

are you playing a bass through it?  if you haven't already you should see what a guitar sounds like through it.
