Pickup advise needed at short notice

Hi guys,

I'm about to order two sets of BNP's for two of my Carvin guitars. The first one is an all koa neck-through, the other one has an alder body with a clarowalnut top, a five-piece laminated neck (maple and walnut), and is neck-through as well. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150061623450)

I've already decided on the neck PU's: cold sweats.
As for the bridge PU's, I'd opt for a Nailbomb for the koa guitar, and a MM for the other one. I have no idea how the different Pu's combine with different tonewoods. I read the MM was intended for mahogany guitars, which leads me to believe it would suit well with koa. However, I prefer my koa guitar not to sound too bright. It shoyuld definitely sound metal and modern, but not too harsh. i prefer a smooth sound. I liked the sound of the MM clips though. That's why I reserved this one for the other guitar. i'm not sure it won't be overly bright though (maple, walnut, ..)

What do you guys think?

If it was me, I'd do it the other way round: MM for the koa guitar & NB for the alder one.  MM won't be overly bright, but will be powerful, smooth, intense & precise - everything you need for that guitar :-)

Having said that, I don't think your choice would be disastrous - they're both still fantastic pickups.  JMO, YMMV etc....
BKPs: HD, MM, NB, PK, CS, Ab (b&n); Am (b only); VHII, Tril (n only); IT, Slow, Sult (m&n)

I noticed you mentioned precise..
Is there a great difference in definition between the NB and the MM? Just wondering..
