Anyone watch the Boxing last night?

If you did, OH DEAR Audley Harrison!! That could be his career over, he was doing great until he got knocked out  but i guess that's boxing for ya.
And he was saying before the fight he would be a world champion and that this fight was just a stepping stone!
Good luck to Michael Sprott, looks like he's gunna need it as he's facing Matt Skelton next, though maybe he can upset the bookies again and beat Skelton.

Here's the fight in full, though it only takes 3 rounds to knock Harrison out!

Yo

I'm a huge boxing fan as I used to be partake in it myself. yea the fight last night was a huge upset, Harrison would have easily won if he kept his distance and boxed but alas he lacks the skill and experience to do this. It was a lucky punch and it could have happened to anyone, I do feel for audley because technically he was the superior fighter.

Amir Khans match was a farce as have been pretty much all of his other professional fights, the guys needs to setup up 20 levels because its just boring to watch him put away bums.

English boxing is in a very sad state of affairs at the moment we have absolutely no one to take on the Yanks who are on so much of a higher level.

I say it's more the Russians that are more deadly than the Yanks. Don't all the 4 major titles belong to Russian's? Or am i a little outdated.

Yeah despite Audley being a c--ky bar-steward, i felt he had left that behind him since his rematch with Danny Williams and i felt within the first two or so rounds that he had the skills to pay the bills in this fight. But as you said Sprott got the punch in while Audley has his guard down and won the fight. It was a good punch though i don't think Audley can take much of a beating as in his first fight with Danny Williams he got knocked down by that punch that pretty much only skimmed his head. He needs to get tougher and if he continues on his quest for a world title then he needs to look at what happened in this fight and fix the part where he went wrong.

I'd love to see Matt Skelton go on to a higher status on the world class level though i can't see him going on and winning against people like Nicolay Valuev.

Well I think they are two naughty men. They should be made to sit down and talk through their argument.I am sure that with counselling they could work it out without resorting to violence.

100% Agree!

The Earl / Katsidis  fight was incredible and summed up everything that is both right and wrong with boxing.

I've boxed and been a boxing fan for decades and that has to be one of the best and most unpredictable fights I've ever seen.

The bravery and skill on both sides along with the punishment Earl took whilst he kept on replying with meaningful punches.  Amazing.

The sad fact though is that if that Earl / Katsidis fight had got the ITV1 attention it deserves the calls for the banning of boxing would rise again.

When paternalistic busy-bodies view such a display of ambition, courage and determination all they can comprehend is brutality.

Maybe they would have more respect for what it means to step into the ring if they had ever had the strength of character to try...

The rubbish like the Harrison fight was on prime time and the "real" boxing is found on the undercard.

d'oh!  :?

missed it. totally forgot it was on. which is a shame, coz i enjoy watching Fraudley fights. he can't move, he can't take a punch, he can't THROW a punch... he's the most inept, overrated big walloper ever to step into the ring.

True that, but remember you arn't going to be making a lotta money with Earl/Katsidis headlining the bill.

But before the fight if someone offered you the chance to watch either one of them surely you would choose the big heavyweight fight rather than the other one (depending on whether you knew Earl/Katsidis before the fight) because i know i would, it's just the anticipation and tension you just know anything can happen in heavyweight boxing!

Saying that Earl/Katsidis was an AWESOME fight.
