Treble bleed OTT
« on: March 17, 2007, 02:01:25 PM »
I install a treble bleed on my Epi wit a 0.1 cap and a 220k resistor. Outcome, it is adding trebles when roll off the volume and it "sounds" louder. What would be the next step to get a proper treble bleed?

I got spare 0.068 caps and spare 130k resistor. What combo should I try next?

Remove the resistor...

Remove the resistor and just leave the capacitor on it's own between the centre and outside tag of your volume pot(s) - that's how I do mine.

Adding the capacitor alone will retain the highs as desired, but the resistor could/will be adding a value in parallel with the track of your volume pots, depending on how it is wired.

On my Telecaster I always do the capacitor only mod and it does the job perfectly.
