Ahhh! Amp problem!

So... the day i finally buy my own BKP, this goes and happens ¬_¬

Anyway, i think the pre-amp tubes are shot but im not sure...

Earlyer on there was a weird sound on the bass-frequencies, sort of a low rattly buzzy sound when playing on lower notes. so i stopped playing, thinking it was my ears.

Turned it back on... everythings fine... so i put my effects back in the chain, a boss high impendence volume and a zoom g1 (we were skint and needed a delay asap! suprisingly good though) and it just sounds all muffled, with a nasty trebbley scratchy sound going off and on when playing... tried it without the effects, same, if not worse.

Since the tube amp's havent been replaced since it was made by the looks of things, does this sound like a pre-amp problem?

Yesterday i was hearing weird noises out of it too, kind of like morse code, thought i was picking up some kind of radio signal but i guess i wasnt!

Could defo be a bad preamp valve, try replacing 'em one at a time and see if things get better.  I'd say it's 95% likely to be a bad preamp valve.  With output stage valves you generally get volume fluctuations, muddy tone and loss of power/punch.

Most deffinatly sounds like a dodgy valve. pretty easy to change preamp valves and doesn't cost too much

After buying two JJ pre-amp valves... i realised what the problem is.

The moment i remembered it was the day i got the bkp's got put in...

The soldering has come loose! but obviously not on the bkp on it's own, it'll be some point after the pick-up selector i'd guess.

Geeze, tried my brothers £50 guitar and it works just fine. oddly, i also prefer it's neck to mine and it's middle pickup is really nice...
