If your using a distortion pedal then the amps distortion won't matter so I'd say get a GH50L because you can just use the Laney as a clean sound and the pedal as your distortion which is what it seems you do anyways.

I'll do a clip soon of my Charvel with a bridge Rebel Yell into my GH50L going from a classic metal tone to clean using the guitars volume and disengaging the drive boost. To get good cleans when rolling off the guitar volume though, you really need to do the treble bleed mod (capacitor across the volume pot basically), otherwise I find it sounds too dull, but thats the same with any guitar in my experience.

Maybe a stupid question, but I really like to know:

I like to eq the distorted sound from the pedal by myself, so I always try to get a very good hardrock sound out of it.

***Does the pedal with the same eq as usually, sound more heavy and raw through the GH50L due to the speakers they use in it???
I don't want to sound like I'm playing the distortion pedal through a Fender...will it be different? More for hardrock with the GH50L?

The GH50L doesn't use speakers because it is a head. You will need a separate cab to go with it which has speakers in.

Thanks everybody for the advices.
I'm searching for a raw and heavy distorted tone and most of the time I'm playing with a distortion pedal (Boss DS1/Metal Zone) in front of the amp...so I don't use the gain/distortion directly from the amp itself (I like to eq the distortion by myself). I'm also always using reverb from the amp.

I like the raw and tight distorted hardrock sounds...(no metal!!).
The bass and mids must sound tight with some bite in it....

The clean sound must be very decent...I like Fender amps for the clean sound, but then I don't get a RAW and TIGHT distorted sound...

So my dream amp must have both worlds-> clean->very clean
                                                                 distorted-> raw, heavy, tight

What is the right amp for me?!

Laney LH50R

or an ENGL.. Thunder i think has 2 channels, and is in the same price range

i'd do some clips, but my charvel is disasembeled and i doubt you'd like to hear DropB doing clean lol.. and i'm too lazy to re-set the jackson to E standard
