Pickups for Gordon Smith help
« on: June 10, 2007, 07:52:21 PM »
Im relativly new to BKP and pickups in general and I'm looking at buying some new pickups for my gordon smith GS2 deluxe, spruce body (quite a bright tone) Looking for some pickups with a bit of variety, some nice clean bluesy type stuff think SRV and some classic rock ACDC/ Led Zepplin type stuff. I would also like quite a bassy crunch, any advise would be appreciated.

Black Dogs would be great in that guitar.  I love my mate's standard GS-2 Deluxe and for the sound you're after, Black Dogs is where it would be at.

Oh, and welcome!  :D

You'd struggle to get SRV tones out of that guitar (just as anyone would with a twin humbucker guitar), but I have a Black Dog bridge and a Riff Raff neck in my Gordon Smith Graduate60 and it's a great combination :)
Selling lots of gear, enquire within!......
