Joe Walsh Clip...! - Trilogy Suite
« on: July 24, 2005, 06:53:33 PM »
Ok, I rigged up my Tascam Guitar Trainer  (CD-GT1 MKII) to my E-mu soundcard. These guitar trainers take out the guitar on a CD and you can replace it with your own. So I miked up my amp and tried to get it the levels ok with the mixer on the computer. I'm a bit loud I think! The intro isn't me it's Joe Walsh as I can't seem to lose that part of it. So I play rhythm instead of Joe using a Trilogy Suite Middle Pickup on a Charvel Model 6.

The amp is on crunch with gain on 5, bass 10, mid 5, treble 10 mid shift on +.

That's good. I want a guitar trainer too! We've got a vocal trainer already.

That amp is no one trick pony.

There great Ratrod, they have built in effects which aren't bad but there not great. The bare knuckles push the overdrives into clip so you only need a mere smidgen of gain. It does vocals too. I haven't tried that feature yet as I haven't got over that silly thing you get when you try and sing somthing seriously and start laughing at yourself! I sing all day in my truck and it sounds ok over the noise of the engine, which is loud!
You can slow down hard to work out licks and put them on repeat, jam with cd's it's just endless and they take batterys!

As for the amp, you right and that's excatly what the Dutch guy said when i had a demo of one at the LGS. You can do Hank Marvin on it at one end Led Zepp, Eric, Jimi any of the classic stuff right through skull crushing metal! You might get them cheaper where you are as well. There's another Dutch guy in here and he uses one too. The ffing amazing things! :D  8)
