The thing is, people want a Les Paul for what it is - warts and all. A "Les Paul Modern" isn't what Jimmy Page/Slash/Paul Kossoff etc used so a lot of punters won't buy it. They want what their idol had. I'm not saying there isn't a market for it, but it'd be a small one compared to the "Les Paul Vintage".
And don't go giving Gibson ideas about bodging the mighty SG! :shock:
