Bass Pickup question
« on: July 24, 2005, 02:35:27 PM »
Hi tim, ol n steve at bkp.

My bass players uses an Ibanez ATk 300 which is very similar to MM Stingrays so it has an active bass bucker in it. I was wondering if you can rewind this type pup (with it being a bass and an active pup)?

I know you make passive Fender style bass pups so could it be a possibility??

Cheers and best regards

Joe

We can’t rewind active pickups; they are always filled with epoxy resin. Also active pickups work quite differently to passives, they have capacitors and resistors in them to shape the sound.
We have rewound a music man pickup before; if he can find a cheap one that isn't filled with epoxy we can do it.
