hey guys, i'm looking at buying an orange amp and i am torn between the combo versions of these two!! I really don't know which way to go. Any pro's/con's, opinions, or any input on the matter would be appreciated

matamp = very much like orange but fully customisable to what you want and hand made in the uk, and you can still have them in orange tolex if you want!!!

You might have to convince Dave to build you a combo though - he hates them :lol:

If you're in the UK I would buy Matamp over Orange any day of the week.

sorry dudes i'm in australia and i don't know any dealers around that stock matamp. I have heard good things but yeh like i said, they don't really exist down here yet which is kinda sad. Back to the orange question.... any insight?

What kind of sound do you want?

Personally I'd spend a bit more and get a Rockerverb 50 if I had to buy an Orange. I don't think there's such thing as a Rockerverb 30 I assume you meant Rocker 30 but they are totally differentt to the Rockerverb.

Played the Rocker30 for about an hour or so and LOVED it. Since then I want one so bad. It's got a great crunch and lead tone and a lovely clean. I think the AD30 has advantages as it has two dedicated EQs and Vols and Gains (Clean channel on Rocker30 is just 1 pot for volume), but I liked the tone structure on the Rocker more.

The AD30 is more in your face with less gain and the Rocker has this nice sagginess and shimmer to it.

ROCKER 30. is more modern and has more gain.

the AD 30 is more vintage voiced, so it has a tube rectifier (sagggg) and sad gain.

Rockverb 50 would be sweet because you get an FX loop, but i'd personally dislike the 6v6's in the poweramp, they are NOT my piece of cake.

my music style is very much classic rock, but nothing overly heavy. Maybe the heaviest i go would in comparison to established bands would be black sabbath or newer bands like the darkness. I really like the kings of leon and their tone, but at the same time like page and slash. I had previously owned a TSL (shite amp) and now have an AC30CC which is a beautiful amp for some things, but then lacks in other areas. My main beef there is the way it farts out when playing say power chords on the low E string. So the fact that i am looking for a vox with more balls has obviously pointed me inthe orange direction, however i will deeply miss my vox when it goes and will definately buy one again some day when i have the money. ATM i can only afford one amp to cover all my sounds
