for me its not the scale length or weight/size/shape of the guitar that determines how fast i play. Its the fretboard wood and frets, a slinky ebony or ziracote fretboard just plays smoother and feels faster than stuff like indian rosewood... and the same goes for well dressed frets over slightly rough ones.
