Played a Matamp GT1 today...
« on: August 07, 2007, 09:53:24 PM »
...and I now want one.  Badly  :(

Had to go to the factory to get my Little Rock fixed (I'd blown the DI output adjuster   ) and took the opportunity to play a GT1 they had in the showroom.  Perfect rock sound for me - nice and thick and chewy - although it didn't fully shine thorugh the Hot 100 4x12 I was playing it though.  I think through my V30 or G12H cabs it'd be awesome.

I'm going to have to find £700 from somewhere...

Can't remember if I tried a GT1 when I've been up there.

There's so many MAtamps that I want but so little room at home    (and £s ofcourse!)

My Little Rock has recently gone 'tits up' too. The switch is knackeerd and nothing happens with the amp apart from the power light flickers on/off very quickly. Spoke to Jeff and he's sending me a new switch to try.

Hope you get yours sorted mate :)

Those Little Rocks seem a bit unreliable - you've only had them a few weeks haven't you?
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds

Mine was caused by user error - no fault of the amp at all.  It's all fixed now after 5 mins on the desk with Dave.

Brow's sounds like a faulty switch - it happens from time to time I guess.  I wouldn't say they were unreliable per se...

Fair enough - just curious, as I knew they were only recent acquisitions.  I've got the MiniMat II on my "little amps" GAS list, just waiting for them to update the specs on the site.

at least getting them fixed when they break doesnt seem to be an issue.

now twinfan - how exactly did you blow the DI thingymajig?  It would be nice to know exactly what this can and cant be used for without breaking it.

I was running the DI out through my Palmer Speaker simulator and then out to some cab speakers.  The DI out didn't like the 8ohm load.....
