I got my new CWP/CS
« on: August 23, 2007, 02:02:30 AM »
So I got them on Friday didn't get them installed until yesterday night, my and my dad did it because my dad is an engineer, guitarist, and he knows how to wire pickups pretty good haha. We had no diagrams so we had to map out the electronics of my pickup selector and all his cr@p, and figure out what each wire color means, and the next night we finished it. My guitar is HSH, the pickup selector just works like a regular 5 way selector (unlike before it did some coil splitting) and i have a push-pull pot for the coil splitting, anyways onto the sound

I plugged it in this morning after stringing it, and I was surprised by how little the sound changed, until i turned the gain on my metal muff down to 7, and than I was really impressed. For some reason the lower I turn the distortion the better it sounds. Really nice bass response in the Warpig, and at low gain levels where my old Dimarzios would usually sound like shitee, it sounds kick ass and heavy as hell. I was jamming with my brother earlier today, he has a line 6 spider II stack and I have a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe with a Metal Muff, and wow my pickups kicked ass, the cold sweat sounds so good with shredding and sweeps, I love it, sometime when my friend comes back from Sweden ill use his protools and record some clips for the forum. Anyways, I'm very impressed and I'm probably becoming a BKP addict as we speak heh

yeah I had a similar experience with my CWPs in my Maverick.
I heard virtually no difference between the stock and the warpig until I'd had it a couple of months and it had 'settled' (that's the most applicable word I can think of) and then it really came to the fore.
btw I find the neck warpig is great for shredding has anyone else found this?
I too use chicken as a measurement.

Awesome!! Yeah i found that out, the Warpig is such a gain monster that you can take down some of the gain on your amp/pedals and still have a crushing tone!

Any chance of some piccies? :D
