Thinline Tele pups?
« on: August 29, 2007, 04:26:26 PM »
Any suggestions on pickups for a thinline tele with maple neck / swampash body? My initial thoughts were Yardbirds....
Bare Knuckle Pickups:- Country Boy set, Mule Bridge, Stormy Monday Neck, Riff Raff set.

Personally I'd think that they might be a bit too thin sounding in a thinline, I'd go for the Brown sugars

I find that, acoustically, the hollow body of my Thinline tends to accentuate the bass and treble (I'm never sure how much that translates into the amplified tone, though).

So I would think vintage-output pickups would be best to avoid boominess in the bass - maybe one of the new Blackguard sets?

But I'm really not sure...
