What pups to revive my LP Studio
« on: November 27, 2007, 09:12:49 PM »
Ok, I have just ordered 2 AIV mags from Tim to finish experimenting with the 490R and 498T. Honestly I don't think they are going to stay for long but I could be surprised.

I am eventually about to sell my Marshall amp which I wasn't using much since I got LC15R and even less since I bought the Marshall Jackhammer that basically take care of the sounds I liked in my Marshall. Anyway, some spare cash I will use to get second hand pups for the Studio, I have a few combo in mind I was wondering if you could give your opinion.

The Studio is from 1996, thinner than a standard but still with a maple cap. It is sounding darker than my Epi Classic but than I don't think it tells much, I wouldn't be able to say in comparison to other Gibson but I don't think it is especially dark.
I am looking for something clearer than the '59 in the Epi and I don't think I want to go down the route of a high output pup in the bridge.

So amongst the list in the poll, what would you go for and why?
'17 PRS SE Custom 24 - stock
'07 Fender MIA Tele - The Boss set
'96 Gibson LP studio - MQn, The Mule b
'95 Epi LP classic - MQs
