BKP for those US heavy rock bands

Hi every one,
I recently had a lot of fun with my roomate by re-listening to all these US -a bit cliché- heavy rock bands that we both listenned when we were both beginning high school -so looong ago .... Anyways bands like Creed, Staind, and in a lesser measure Incubus...

And i had forgotten how heavy and growly these bands sound, so I wondered which bkps and what amp to get this kinda sound??
I think it's mainly based on ceramic pups but i'm really not sure...
What do you guys think?

I had a Nailbomb in the bridge of a Les Paul for a while, did the Tremonti Creed thing very nicely. Never played any Staind stuff with it though.

Currently got a Warpig set in a Warmoth Soloist (mahogany/koa body), which really hits the spot for Tremonti's current sound with Alter Bridge. Holy Diver set in PRS SE Singlecut sounds excellent for it too.

Amp-wise, I'd say Mesa Rectifier of some sort would be the best best, probably a Dual Recto. Diezel Einstein could be another good one - lots of lovely gain on tap!!  :twisted:

I have played them, and you're right - they are excellent for it. They handle the downtuned stuff very well.

Holy Diver, as suggested by MDV, is an excellent recommendation. I'm in total agreement with that one.

but tremonti's pickup is based on gibson 500t, so it's probably closer to the painkiller

Ok, so it'd be a holydiver or a painkiller in a PRS-like type of guitar, plugged into a Mesa Dual Rec or a Diesel Eini..... ok cool... but somehow a tad expensive  :lol: ..... okay thanks guys for your answers, i should start saving now ....

Remember though, these bands sounds are polished like hell in the studio!

Although yes, they do have nice gear, you could probably get a sound closer to them on a budget less than what's mentioned above

Maybe a Peavey 5150 mark I or mark II (6505 or 6505+) as the amp

Holy diver will do that for sure....but WHY would you want to?
As far as amps go, i think a Recto will do you fine for that late '90s godawful tone.

But hey, these bands made a part of my younger life soundtrack's!! I won't spit on them, even if now i'm not especially proud of this :oops:

Don't you have these type of silly commercial bands that you used to love loved as a 'younger' teenager -yeah i still see myself as one- that are now sooo linked to a specific memory or a particular moment of you life??
Or were you born listenning to the 'right' music? :lol: -just kidding here mate-
