Which pickup for this sound?
« on: November 22, 2007, 01:17:46 PM »
is it the pickup/guitar/amp combination or is it just layered like crazy?

This heavy metal sound is so rich and phat, really love it - this might replace what used to be my reference metal sound to date - the Justice For All sound of Metallica:

Somebody is really into Kurt Cobain!
I think that sound comes mostly from the production, but some high output crunchy pickup like a Nailbomb through something like a Rectifier and then with loads of studio compression and eq would get you that tone. I'd love to be standing on stage and playing those muted open strings with that tone though
