We used to cover Faith Healer.  Zak Cleminson is a great guitar player.  I saw them live quite a few times from the early days all the way through the productions with the wall!
So many pickups, so little time

They are still touring (without Alex of course) but the remaining members are back together - Chris Glenn, Zal Clemenson and Ted & Hugh Mckenna with Max Maxwell on vocals.

Saw them open for Def Leppard last year!

Faith Healer still sounds awesome!

Good call Hunter !

I love SAHB, they where a large part of the soundtrack of my life in the 70s.

Sadly, I never got a chance to see them together, but did see / meet Alex with his 'new' band when they where touring to promote "The Mafia Stole My Guitar" album.

Not only where they an amazingly theatrical show, but also very tight, creative and disciplined musicians.  They where truly a 'one off' of the very best kind.

Damm fine ...   8)

:D All the time in the world for SAHB !

When i lived in a bedsit my neighbour would wake me up every Sunday afternoon at exactly midday to the strains of Faithealer pumping through the wall !

Every now & then you see clips of them playing on the old grey whistle test [ THE music show to be on in the 70`s here in the UK ] its amazing how tight they are as well. The Bass Player & Drummer ended up working with just about everyone in the 70` & 80`s they were that highly regarded.

I made a similar rediscovery of them about a year ago (and it cost me a fortune), the Live @ the BBC CD is a good live disc

Including a certain Mr Rory Galagher :)

Theres quite a few SAHB clips on youtube (including the current incarnation) with Next being my personal favourite.

Rob...

SAHB was also one of the influences of early ACDC

It's a long shot, but anybody know any uber-geeky websites which list actual Alex Harvey tour dates?

I've got this nagging idea that I saw him when I was at University, which would have had to be between October 1981 and (obviously) February 1982.

If I didn't see him then, I'm making the whole thing up, which is a pretty disturbing example of deceptive memory.   :(
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

They did tour for a while after Alex left (did an album & tour called The Sensational Alex Harvey Band without Alex as I remember)

Then Zal joined Nazereth.

Try this site for dates http://www.wunnerful.com/sahb/SAHB_on_Tour/index.html

Thanks Rob, that's a good site.  I'll have to wait for him to add the post-SAHB dates though.
