Just got me some Mules...

First time i've tried these pickups having previously owned a large ammount of the BKP range.. Must admit these are the most authentic vintage sounding pickup I've ever heard..

Huge fat warm vintage tone.. Can't go wrong really.

I agree, although I haven't tried many pickups. What kind of guitar did you put them in?

+1

To add to this, how many pickup manifacturers you know that make alnico IV pickups? Im really thankfull Tim makes them this way, they are just unique.

I think you have the potted ones? The unpotted ones are perfectly balanced IMO.

There are a few but they don't make a wide range of pickups to choose from. I mean, let's say you want a PAF - how many choices do you have? Mules, Stormies, Riff Raffs w/ Alnico II, III, IV or V... then there are the "not PAF but sort of" models such as the VHII or Crawler, even the MQ...

I actually found two other pickup manifacturers who were up to comparable standards, but like you said they made one or two kind of PAF's and they all sounded way too woody to compare.

I do like wood, dont understand me wrong, but i have (had) several original pafs and they certainly not all sounded like a forrest.

EDIT: And to add to this, they didnt offer the unpotted option like Tim makes them as a standard option.
