I got Assassins Creed for xmas and its such a good game, running across the rooftops as you escape from the scene of a crime is so fun :D Probably not the best game ever but its really good.

I reckon my all-time choice for best game ever, in terms of nostalgia and gameplay, will always be Wizball on the Commodore 64. Sensible Soccer on the Amiga was also a massive massive part of my young life. :)

I don't have a console or a game-capable PC myself these days, so the only game I play regularly is KSirtet (Tetris clone); but sometimes at my brother's house I'll be dragged into an hour or so of Winning Eleven or EA Skate when the guitars get put away and the beers come out.

I've lost a lot of my life to games, I'm not going to try to say best ever, but here are the ones that have eaten the most hours.

EverQuest I & II
World of Warcraft
Oblivion
Lego Star Wars II
Elite (on the C64)
Gibson LP std + Nailbomb set
Diezel VH4 & Orange Rockerverb 50

Sailor Charon

I can't beleive I haven't seen Golden Axe mentioned anywhere. Now that game was absolutely mint.

A friend of mine at university could complete the arcade version on one life...
