Brown Suger Pups with Delta Tone Control Tele?
« on: January 11, 2008, 07:06:09 PM »
Hey guys, I have a quick question for the people who know.

I have a Fender 60th anniversary Tele which has the above mentioned delta tone control.  Basically, when the tone control is turned all the way up it cuts the tone controls of the guitar completely out and the pickups raw sound is carried to the amp.  You may also have called it a "cut" or "no-load" control.

Now, I was thinking about getting a set of brown sugars for my tele, but was wondering if this delta tone control would make the wiring more complicated/advanced?
I'm not doing the soldering or installation myself, but I'd just like to know so that I could inform the person installing them.
Many thanks guys.

No, the wiring's exactly the same as with a standard tone pot.

If you're keeping the existing electronics, he'll only need to disconnect two wires from the switch and two ground wires from the back of the volume pot, then put the new pickups in place.  No need to touch the tone control.
