Dave Lee Roth - minus Alex or Eddie (& Mike)

Ever wonder what David Lee Roth singing Van Halen's "Running With the Devil" would sound like without all those drums and guitars and shite? Me neither, but sometimes it's the unasked questions that produce the greatest answers.

although, to be fair, it would probably sound almost as stupid with any other singer minus the rest of the mix.

except the screams- only DLR could make the ad libs sound so cringingly similiar to a 5 year old boy after eating sherbet.

Just feels weird, makes him seem like he isn't that good of a singer.

Can still feel the emotion in it, just on the records, it sounds like it has more range etc

Just makes you realise that each part of a musical picture can sound wierd on its own.

If you ever hear a producer solo out a particular part from the mixing desk it can sound downright weird.

He's a terrible singer, and always has been!  But he has the charisma to more than make up for his vocal limitations.  :D

That track sounded better than I expected, to be honest.

he's my favorite vocalist of all time... awful 'singer'... but the best front man and vocalist music has seen yet... in my opinion

:D I think thats a bit unfair tobe honest. DLR never proclaimed to be a great singer buti think he carried the tune quite well.

The great thing is he sounds like his having a party even on his own ! No wonder VH sounded exciting.
