Yoo could maybe get one with steel slug poles and a ceramic bar magnet across the bottom. A bit like the pickups they use on some budget Strat copies - and also very much like a DiMarzio SDS-1.
I don't know whether it's something Tim would be interested in building though, you'd have to ask.
