How to wire single humbucker to push pull tone pot to split
« on: February 07, 2008, 02:48:04 PM »
As the message subject says, how would one go about splitting the coils on a single humbucker,1 volume and 1 tone guitar....in this case the tone control would be the push-pull....or would the volume pot be better? please advise...the pickup is an alnico warpig,4 conductor.. :?:

But with the BKP colour coding green/white go to the switch part of the push-pull, red to hot and black/bare to ground.

This shows the volume as the push-pull, but it's just as easy to use the tone, it's just a matter of personal preference.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

If you don't use your tone control, you could also wire a normal tone control to be a blender from HB to SC.

That sounds quite interesting... Have you ever done this?  I've heard of bend control for 2 pickups, but not for blending from HB to SC...  Do you get some interesting/useful sounds from it?
