... speaks for itself, doesn't it?
My quest for a new amp has brought me here. I've checked out loads of clips, reviews (in fact EVERYTHING except for actually PLAYING one!!!), and I think that the 50 watt head and cab might just me for me, when funds allow.
I've not heard many bad things about them. Please help fuel my GAS attack...
Mark.
People here have basically summed it up. I had the screamer combo, and its a realy versatile amp that can get a hell of a lot done. Its very loud, you can easily gig it, and its great for recording.
A plus is you can get pretty good sounds out of it at low volume.
Word to the wise though: It benefits greatly from an EQ in the FX loop.
If you want to go for the head, though, then try it out with a few different cabs. Its pretty sensitive to speakers and cab build.
If you want it for full-on-metal, then you'd be much happier with a fireball, powerball or savage (probably an invader too, but I havent tried one of those). Its worth the extra cash for any of those fior the higher gain sounds (not because of the gain, though they all have much more if you want it, but the voicings are better for metal and they are tonally more flexible)
