I remmeber when i first discovered him on youtube i was blown away, he always looks like he's really enjoying himself!

Found out in work today. Like many, I didn't know he was ill. It's a real shame, he was a unique guitar player, and a great singer too. Sad loss to the world of music, RIP Jeff.

Just got his last album - emphasises what a loss he is. The whole thing has real intimate feel (some songs recorded in small clubs) and just transports you back about 60 years. Dave Murphy provides some excellent barrelling blues piano, but it's JH's playing that as ever sets it apart - the blistering delivery of before is still there but now comes with added jazz reflections which really keeps you on your toes. Even styles of blues I would normally skip through keep you hooked to the end.

For this board I reckon the stand out track is "It's only money" - the refrain of "Spend it, Spend it" could accompany many a GAS attack! :)
