Alnico IV Strat Pickups
« on: April 28, 2008, 08:30:50 PM »
I've just picked up a new maple board strat and after my experience with Alnico 4 humbuckers was looking for a set of strat p/u's with Alnico 4 magnets, anyone know why Tim does not make a set??

Can Mothers Milk P/U's be made with Alnico 4???

Cheers

I'd be talking to Tim about this, if he's not used IV then there is a reason for it, but if you've a particualr tone in mind I don't see why he can't use a IV. The only problem with that is you really don't know what you are going to get, unless he's made it before.

Someone on the FDP forum who makes pickups says Alnico IV isn't available in rod magnet form - so you would have grind the bar magnets to rods.

Dunno if its true though . . .
