I dunno man, when you downtune often, you invariably use heavy gauge strings. Lots of string mass in a very powerful field results in really "chainsaw-y" sound to my ears. Some people like that I guess.

You cant avoid that with PKs though. Its a property of the tuning/strings primarily and the PK still has it.

I have PKs, C-Pig/CS, Monster-MM (23k double screw pole)/Uber trills and an uber-sinner in C# and drop B with 11-62s and they are all plenty clear.

Not that I dislike the C-pig (I've not grinned as hard in ages after trying the B6 with one, and will prob put one in my next B2), but I'd still stick with the PK recommendation for heavy downtuning.

well i agree also in the rythm-ceramic thing...... i have a c-pig in my other baritone and i love it..... but that is a basswood bari....this is a mahogany..... anyways i ordered already.....ceramic nailbomb lets see how that goes
