Steve Lynch!!!

In keeping with the current trend of over emphasised 80s guitarist related topics I've been watching some clips from the fomer Autograph guitarist's old instruction video on You Tube and I like his use of tapping, it reminds me a bit of Reb Beach.

Anyway, question time: It looks like he's got some kind of DiMarzio in his Jackson, does anyone know which model it is? Super Distortion perhaps?

I love Autograph and always liked the guitars in it, solos were epic.

Turn up the radioooo!!

Edit: lmao i just studied these clips and he's not actually playing the solos when he plays them full speed on the demonstration! He's just miming it, then he plays it for real when he shows you how to do it.

I just looked at the credits on all three albums and it mentions Charvel/Jackson guitars but no pickup companies.  And I found an article from Guitar Player saying the black Charvel had "a single Seymour Duncan custom humbucking pickup".

It's really hard to see in those clips, but the guitar seems to have black polepieces, like some DiMarzios, but shiny bobbins, like Duncans.  Maybe it was a custom one-off - or maybe he just changed his pickups all the time - like us lot!

I've actually got his old book on tapping, The Right Touch.  The examples are on a flexi-disc!  And no, I never learned any of the licks - plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.
