Recommend me a baritone!

(except the 28 inch neck: overkill! But it would be great proof of concept: if I like 28, then I'll be fine with 26.5 or 27!)

28 is great on the bass, 26.5 good on the treble.... fanned fret is the answer... not for £300 though

I don't think you will get a decent one for 300 pds. The ESP/LTD ViperBaritone 200 is not produced anymore, so you would have to get it used. The VB400 is IMO the best fairly inexpensive baritone on the market - but it's at least 200 pounds over your budget.

They all have 27" scale, which is what I like.

I suddenly feel the urge to show off my baritone...  :D  sorry for this ;-)
