I ditched my Ibby endorser special, didn't dig the standard scale or the trem.. and picked up an Ibanez 2077XL on a complete whim because the price was incredibly low and it was for some reason in Canada. I've wanted one for awhile so hey why not.
Its a 27" scale 7 string, pro edge double locking trem, basswood body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard.
My ideal sound is mahogany body/mahogany neck/ebony board guitars with Seymour Duncan Blackouts. The Nailbomb was really good, but I want to try something a bit different. Something that has a really thick sound that could make this basswood body chug, and has more dynamics than the Blackouts do (being EMG copies) but less than the Nailbomb so I get a little bit more of an active flavor.
I'm looking for new bridge & neck pickups. Miracle Men? or Painkillers? or ceramic Nailbombs?
It'll be tuned to Bb standard and I play my own special brand of metal
