How about a clear pickup?
« on: July 08, 2008, 01:31:30 AM »
I'd really love to give the VH 2 PU a spin.
Any chance of finding out if Bare Knuckles cane do a clear PU? Eddie used to have one and I'd love to throw one into a VH II guitar.

Do you mean clear plastic bobbins?  I've asked about different colours before and I think the answer was that they'd need to buy (and sell) at least 100 to make it financially viable.  So probably not.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds

There was talk a long, long time ago about BKP getting their own bobbin moulds, but I presume this never happened and they still order them from another maker, thus explaining the limit on colours and materials.

We do have our own molds now for standard and wide spaced bobbins, in fact we produce most of our own materials from engineers with our own tools that we have had especially made for us for the highest quality pickups. My only guess can be that the demand for these clear bobbins is not enough for us to order as we normally order in the thousands and im sure they wont let us order just one set if you get what i mean. Other then that its probably the people who have our tool to make the bobbins wont use that sort of material.

Anyways im pretty sure one of the above will be the correct reason but we certainly do have our own molds for standard and wide spaced humbucker bobbins. :)

And as ilyti said if you can find these bobbins some where and send them to us im sure we can wind what you want on them. :)
